Puberty is a time of great change and for the Muslim, this not only means physical, cognitive and emotional changes but, more importantly, spiritual changes.
Switching Gears, blends all the kids need to know to have basic knowledge of puberty from a scientific perspective as well as the basic Islamic knowledge concerning accountability, ritual purity and cleanliness.
In this unit, we discuss:
Physical changes including the male reproductive system
Emotional and cognitive changes including the human brain and hormones
Spiritual changes including accountability, obligations, hijab and gender segregation
Cleanliness, hygiene and ritual purity
