Our Islamically Integrated Language Arts Level One Units provides a comprehensive approach to language skills. Designed for Muslim children aged 6 to 10, these units focus on:
Language Arts Level One Writing Unit
Writing Skills: Children learn to write simple sentences and short paragraphs with correct grammar, punctuation, and capitalisation. Children then move onto descriptive paragraphs and eventually narrative stories. The emphasis is on clear and organised writing, as well as expressing thoughts and ideas coherently.
Grammar and Language Structure: Basic grammar concepts such as nouns, verbs, adjectives, and sentence structure are recapped. This is explored more in depth in our Language Arts: Level One: Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling unit.
Vocabulary Development: Students expand their vocabulary by learning new words and their meanings through reading and context. They also develop the ability to use appropriate words in speaking and writing.
Language Arts Level One Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling Unit
Writing Skills: Begin to write simple sentences and short paragraphs with correct grammar, punctuation and capitalisation. Focus on developing clear and organised writing and expressing thoughts and ideas coherently.
Grammar and Language Structure: Understand basic grammar concepts such as nouns, verbs, adjectives and basic sentence structure, focusing on parts of speech and punctuation.
Phonics and Spelling: Although not a phonics program, we aim to continue to reinforce phonics skills for decoding and spelling words.
Vocabulary Development: Expand vocabulary by learning new words and their meanings through reading and context. Develop the ability to use appropriate words in speaking and writing.
Aiming to develop your child’s ability to effectively communicate, comprehend and express themselves using the English language. And the best part, is that it is catered for the Muslim child. Highlighting different cultures as well as reinforcing basic Islamic concepts and knowledge.
